Description:
The original tombstone is located in the north chapel of All Saints Church, Lydd.
The replacement stone lies flat in the churchyard, and is located near the footpath which runs through the churchyard, on the left as you are walking from the front of the church towards the exit.
History:
The old original gravestone had been moved into the North Chapel, to preserve it from further damage. Thomas Edgar died 17th October 1801.
The new stone was placed on the grave in 2001, on the 200th anniversary of Thomas Edgar’s death.
This was presented by Roy and Sue Strangeway, of Romney Marsh Funeral Service.
