Description:
There are 13 portrait roundels on the exterior of the of the Wool Exchange building in Bradford, Yorkshire.  This is a triangular building and the roundels are sited between the ground floor arches of Bank Street and Market Street.

History:
The stone mason who carved the roundels was by James Tolmie (died 1866).
This was a competition winning design of 1864 by Lockwood and Mawson.
The building was completed in 1867, and on the facades facing Market Street and Bank Street are 13 roundels with portraits of notable people: –
On Market Street are inventors, industrialists and politicians - Richard Cobden ; Titus Salt, George Stephenson. James Watt, Richard Arkwright, Joseph Marie Jacquard, William Gladstone and Henry Palmerston.
Five Explorers are facing Bank Street – Walter Raleigh, Francis Drake, Christopher Columbus, James Cook and George Anson.
