Cairn to Cook at West Molle (Daydream Island), Queensland, Australia

Description:
Cairn with a granite plaque affixed.

History:
Unveiled on 9th June, 1946.
To commemorate the discovery and naming of the Whitsunday Passage by Captain Cook.
The cairn was the work of the Royal Geographical Society of Australia (Queensland), whose president performed the unveiling.
The plaque was donated by Arthur Bruce Pie (1902-62), a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland.
