At Sawmill Beach, Cid Harbour.
The Cairn is stepped, constructed of concrete and cobbles, and with a plaque.
History:
Unveiled on 4th June 1970 by Sir Raphael Cilento. At the unveiling there was a tree planting ceremony, and a firework display.
The cairn marks Cook’s voyage through the Whitsunday Passage 200 years earlier.
