21 stamps were issued in a single sheet with the title Counting in Kiwi.
Each 60c stamp depicts a different number. The one for 17 shows silhouettes of the Captain Cook statue at Gis-borne,6 a kiwi and Endeavour. The annotation at the top of the stamp is “17 hundred and 69 Captain James Cook lands here”. At the bottom are the words “Tekau má whitu”, which is Maori for number 17.
